The Community Crib Festival will run from 6th to 8th December 2024 and will end with a celebration service on the evening of Sunday 8th December. We are inviting everyone to bring a crib for the festival.
A crib might be a piece you already own.
This lovely crib comes from Madagascar and appears to be missing Joseph, who has perhaps just popped out for some food and drink for the visitors.
The crib below with the bears comes from Poland and was part of the St Cuthbert's Crib Festival in Wells, Somerset.
Alternatively, in the tradition of the Christmas Tree Festival you could make a crib. It could be traditional or modern. The only limit is your imagination and creativity. The angels may have worn designer robes with multicoloured wings. The kings may have arrived in vintage cars or on motorbikes. A rugby team may have popped in to see the baby, having misssed the door to the inn. There may have been many creatures that came to visit that night that were not recorded in the gospels. If Jesus was sent for the whole world, then the whole world can be at the crib.
